It appears that Volkswagen is changing course regarding its hybrid powertrain policy. Under Bernd Pischetsrieder, VW's recently sacked CEO, the plan reportedly was to introduce hybrid versions of lower-end models such as the Golf and Jetta, but that has been deemed to expensive to be successful by the incoming regime. According to the German publication Automobilwoche, the automaker's first hybrid-powered vehicle will be the Touareg SUV.

I had booked my VW Polo on 22/7/10 by paying Rs. 50k @ VW Navi Mumbai in my wife's name, they informed me that approx delivery date will be 8 to 12 weeks from booking. On 12/8/10 .I decided to opt for vento (as seen launching on TV & internet)& paid additional Rs. 25k.

They aren't as popular in the US for whatever reason, but I've got no idea why I would be interested in finding out why that is, so you'll pardon me if I don't try to explain it.
